Gropius: The New Architecture and the Baushaus
100 CHF
Walter GROPIUS. The New Architecture and the Bauhaus. New York: Museum of Modern Art, and London: Faber and Faber, n.d. [1936 or 1937]: 1937.

80pp + 16 b/w plates. Second printing with new contents. Original cloth with red lettering. Some small damages to the spine, cloth otherwise fine. Content pages are fair with only light yellowing. No dust jacket.

The publishers supply no information concerning printing; however, the contents of the 1935 first edition were slightly changed for this issue by the substitution of a preface by Joseph Hudnut, Professor of Architecture at Harvard University, for the one by Frank Pick. The Hudnut preface is dated December 16, 1936, so it is likely that the book actually appeared in the following year. Since the 1935 1st version was used for subsequent reprints by Faber and others, this appears to be the only edition available in which this preface appears.
